2 baby blankets, 2 baby hats, a cowl
finished up (it was a UFO for almost a year) and another cowl whipped
up in a day--(see my Ravely page for photos).
There are 2 more baby hats almost
done—I went looking for a mini skein to finish them up... (which
led to finishing up the UFO, and the other cowl) and to these....
I LOVE these. The yarn is Lang's Mille
Colori—2 half used skeins--(which are not quite enough) I do have
a third skein—but I am not going to use it. The third skein will
become a cowl to match these fingerless gloves—I am not sure how I
will work the figure 8 motif into the cowl—but that is what I plan
to do. The pattern is one I found on Ravelry one—Pieces of Eight—a
design by Sybil Ramkin-
She was inspired by a coiled design she
saw on a sweater--(One inspired by Debbie New's Swirl design—from
Unexpected Knitting, I suspect. Many years ago, I made a small purse
inspired by the same spiral/swirl design (it is ½ of the figure 8
design)
I have a sever case of second sock
syndrome--(an real trial now with twins to knit for.. Oh yeah, did I
mentions?--My DD and SIL were gifted with non identical twin girls
this January! More below) So I have been knitting them together—a
few rows of mitt 1, then a few rows of mitt 2...
Mitt 1 is at a
holding point (I ran out of yarn!) --when mitt 2 reaches the same
point, I will finish of the pair with some Lambs Pride wool—I have
a lot of mini skeins in several different colors..I haven't decided
if I will use a chestnut brown, or a taupe brown, or....
I did write about the twins back in
October –the Syncopated Rhythm hats were coming home from hospital
hats, and there were 2 Sweet Baby hats, too. The first baby blanket
was shown (incomplete)-- It was finished before they were born, but the
second (in the reddish tone) wasn't till they were four week old.
The Boob hats (the pink Lion Brand Yarn was posted) where finished a
week later, and the next pair of hats (Deviled Eggs Hats) are still
in need of the red devil horns—that will complete them (and it's the
red yarn for the horns that send me hunting in my stash.)
The twins were born back in January (on
one of those cold, snowy day—which could virtually be any day in
the second half of the month –or for that matter, any day in
February, too. This winter has been a cold and snow one!
Going through my stash—a disaster! I
found so many yarns –which rekindled ideas—and I have baby
sweaters to knit (and scarved, too) and socks to knit (and fingerless
gloves, and hats, and....
Well one project at time! (my next
project will be to finish up another UFO—and then a pair of baby
sweaters. I can't think beyond that.

Congratulations on the twin babies! Twin girls! I'll bet you are over the moon knitting now. I red back and see that they were born in January in the dead of winter.
It was so good to see your post pop up in the list! My list is just not behaving anymore since signing on to Google 1. Darn them!
